![]() ![]() ![]() The recent progress in modeling technologies, based on interoperability, to be primarily installed among the knowledge systems, opens new scenarios based on the integration of cognitive systems in a reading pattern with well-known crossroad nodes, which can explain the reasons of environmental and economical phenomena, generated by the " families of interactions " unfolding among heterogeneous, yet interfering, dimensional scales. The Faculty of Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano is leading the implementation of these standards within the institutional educational framework. #DATA NORMALIZATION. PEPAKURA DESIGNER 4 SOFTWARE#The models representation technology guarantees the interoperability of the objects, through the whole information sets' exchange, in both systems, and the whole merging of the models from the original software context to the digital simulation environment in order to preview its working behavior under real conditions. An important contribution is offered by the progressive integration of technologies for geographical and territorial representation with the recent object-oriented 3D parametrical modeling of buildings and their parts of work. ![]() The recent progress in CAAD modeling technologies, based on interoperability, opens new scenarios based on the integration of cognitive systems. A 'Building Object' - the dual system of Spaces and Technology elements – is inferred in several ways according to different goals and the inference mechanism can, simulating human mental shortcuts, optimize thinking. This paper is focused on the first role: how actor-designers approach design problems and how the inference mechanism can help them and affect the design process. The general aim of our research– to be an effective aid to design – is to simulate wo/man as designer and user of designed spaces, hence how mental skill can be computably included in new tools able to tackle these problems. a building – as a mental image – is not a Linnaeus’s classification (structured set of entities) but a system (goals oriented set of classes) able to reasoning upon selectively chosen entities belonging to different Realms (ontology universes) (Fioravanti et al., 2011a). In a previous work we highlighted the importance to reason ontologies: a 'world' f.i. In our times, in a complex and universal village where problems are intertwined and pervasive beyond our imagination, we need new approaches to deal with them – appropriately. The paper therefore argues that the need for a comprehensive computer aided intervention for the development and management of marginal and overlooked geographies of brownfields in the city of Amman is long overdue. Using empirical data collected and processed in response to the problem posed, the results indicate a CAD-based model could streamline sustainable brownfield development and save substantial time and resources which would otherwise be required using traditional methods. Looking at the association between sustainable brownfield redevelopment and the optimization of CAD tools and software in the city of Amman, Jordan, the paper attempts to shed light on the unfulfilled potentials of advancement the spatial tools have to offer to the ongoing quest for sustainable urban development on the local scale and the global debate around the urban paradox on the wider scheme. ![]() While greenfield development enjoys the employment and implementation of a wide array of CAD tools, brownfield redevelopment projects are still struggling with traditional planning and management methods. Nonetheless, the connection between the two is often broken. Computer Aided Design (CAD) and its tools have been widely used to enhance and optimize urban plans during both design and implementation phases. Brownfields are a global geographic concern that have been considerably researched within the universal discourse. The task of geography is to establish a critical system which embraces the phenomenology of space in order to grasp all of its meaning in the varied terrestrial scene (Sauer 1925). ![]()
